hmmmm.....well.....it seems that no wayward corporate hackers have broken
into my account after all....wires were crossed and it turns out the email
in question that is causing all this trouble is one that I did write...in
fact one that I posted to this list a while back....at the time it was an
insignificant offhanded thought, thrown out in the midst of much more
pressing discussions at the time dealing with N30 and other things on other
mailing lists.......

so it was NOT an email that I (or someone using my account) sent to
amazon.com, but rather a message that was forwarded to amazon.com by someone
on this list, who then contacted the administration of this
skool.......<sigh> and now it appears that right before I leave to go back
to the states I will be gearing up for a political battle at a university
and in a country where I am not all too sure of what my exact rights
are....but hopefully everything will be sorted out.........

the exact text of the email is below:

now.....last time I checked I was simply posing a hypothetical question in
response to a suggestion of organizing a floodnet of a large site like
etoys.com (which now is under attack ANYWAY).....and I wasn't using
amazon.com in a specific conxtext but more referring to it as 'one of those
large sites' as in, is it even possible to use floodnet on a site that
already reeives that many hits.....(anyway, I thought floodnet was in an
area (albeit a grey one) of legality anyway)

mannnnnnnnnnn these corporate types are running scared.........

ears ears everywhere.......i guess i have a meeting with the administration
here at this school on wednesday, although it would be nice if they told me
the time as I'm leaving the country on wednesday.......<sigh> and after last
year....I JUST WANTED A QUIET SEMESTER!!!!!!!!!!!!

computer lab is closing and my access from home has been
disconnected........

don't think it will be to big of a deal when I explain the context and the
facts regarding the email......at least lets hope not.........

solidarity--
eric
