just a quick note...the structure of organisation you have posited here is
remenscient of the org. structure used to get miracles on a regular basis
in Xerox PARC.  The guy in the middle (ie: you) is not 'above' the others
in any hierarchical sense.  His job is more like traffic conductor than
general.  His job is to coordinate between the 'brains' of the operation,
those who has the skills required to move the group as a whole forward.  I
just felt like pointing out this historical corralation in case you feel
like chasing it up, to see what mistakes/errors they came across.
