This Mobilize Globally thing is just another in a long line of feeble attempts at bringing diverse movements under ONE heading /name and ONE aim. WHO determines who is a "safe partner"? WHO determines the "common ultimate goal"?

No, I'm afraid it's back to the discussion room/drawing board for that idea because the problems it faces and negative effects it will generate if put into practice far exceed the possible benefits that might be achieved.

The most obvious flaw is the fact that while the originator(s) of this idea claims that one of the reasons for creating this list of vetted orgs is to prevent infiltration by "the enemy" into "the movement", it clearly creates the very undesirable situation of "the enemy" being able to easily infiltrate a **central** locus of the "movement", rather than having to waste its time and money on spying out all the different and **decentral** groups at once. And that even assumes that "the enemy" is some sort of tangible entity. What about the concepts in people's heads, many of which pose a far greater challenge to "the movement" than any government agency etc. ever could? What about the idea of hierarchy, group inclusiveness (and thus exclusiveness), sanctioned right&wrong and "safe communication" (just 'cos something is encrypted doesn't mean it is true or sent by who you think it was sent by...)? All of these need challenging and they certainly won't be if you set up a governing body to handle the case.

Hackers, don't unite!
