Woa!

May not have know that this happened but it certainly is v. v. spooky. This practice, achieving censorship by threatening somebody's provider, seems to be getting more and more frequent. To all accounts, it is an efficient way to "do business". Scare somebody off with the threat of better-paid lawyers. Etoys and consorts don't even have to get their hands dirty like old microsoft and risk a judge's condemming words. No, a well-phrased email here or a harsh call there and they can sit back and watch people censor THEMSELVES!

Perhaps it is time to wake up to this tactic and start collecting some info about it, where it has happend, what happened etc... Or has somebody done that already? This is surely an issue that affects all (h)activists and therefore one on which we can all agree on.
