some help for a comrade..........

mental note 151: Don't use your main email address for political
organizing............

so.....i'm in need of some help here.....

recently, i arrived home from a few days journey to Dublin to find the
network jack in my room disconnected?? strange, but normal at this
school.....and then a series of messages left by the administration and the
it department here...we really need to talk to you, urgent meeting required,
blah blah blah...........very strange as i'm only studying here for a
semester.......so I go in to see what it is all about and i'm immediately
attacked for sending threatening emails to amazon.com sayuing I was going to
hack them and amazon is threatening legal action and this is against the
computing code of ethics and grounds for expulsion and i'm like
whoaaaaa.....hold on here.....problem is I didn't send any message........

now, I don't really have many enemies over here in Ireland, and I change my
password about every week and keep it random letters and numbers, so I
SERIOUSLY doubt that it was someone here hacking my password and sending a
random email to amazon, so my best guess is that the server was hacked by
someone who was probably upset with my political beliefs (as I used this
address exensively for organzing local N30 activities and for
arguing/debating/discussing/reporting on N30 events around the globe.....as
well as using this email address on quite a number of other
leftist/anarchist mailing lists) and that they knew sending threatening
letters to amazon.com would bring some amount of shit my way........

so my question is?? How do I clear my name??

I'm not technically skilled enough at hacking to know how (and if...although
I assume the answer on if is YES) it would be possible to hack a MS Exchange
service and send an email from my account.........

what I do know is that although I hate amazon.com as much as I hate the next
capitalist monstrosity I'm not skilled enough to crash their servers and if
I was I assuredly wouldn't send them personal emails from a traceable
account letting them know I was going to do it......and what I also know is
that the burden of proof has been shifted to me (well, of course you are
going to deny it) to prove I DIDN'T send these emails ('as for all intents
and purposes they appear to be') Now I haven't seen the actual text of the
emails nor the dates on when they were sent--my only hope currently is that
they were sent while I was in Dublin...(really now...why would I hack into
the server only to use my account...) and I can claim that as an alibi....if
not I'm facing potentially rather serious disciplinary proceedings....and at
the very least a full revoking of my network priviledges here..........

so, how bout it??? any ideas on how to prove it wasn't me?? any ideas on how
to make this account more secure? and ideas on how to find out what other
emails might have been sent from this account without me knowing???
