This sounds like a totally feasible solution. The mailing list software is
the only software needing the "lists" private key. It also has a database
of each the list members' public keys. So Person A sends mail to the list,
using the lists public key. The list receives the mail, decrypts it, and
then encrypts to each members public key and retransmits. The message
exists in plaintext in only one place, that is on the mailing list, in
memory as it decrypts to re-encrypt. This is something we should look into.
Maybe I can find some spare time.
