I think the US are in deep touble. As a democracy you are in the process to loose any credibility in the free world and elsewhere as well. If, as a country, you are able to make people walking on the moon, but otherwise unable to count votes properly, we'll conclude that you may systematically cheating your voters. It would be a catastrophy to put finally the decision of the elections in the hands of lawyers. To solve the actual issue you may do a revote in Florida, but outsource the whole process to an old democracy as Switzerland, having votings and elections done rougly any four months.  (Florida has just roughly the same order of voters as Switzerland.)
