Close, but no cigar.  The tires with problems were made while the union
was on strike.  So replacement workers (we call 'em scabs) fucked up.
Firestone settled the last labor dispute, after the tire problems hit the
corporate press, very quickly.

There is all kinds of sabotage.  Most work related sabotage is designed
slow/stop production, not injury workers and consumers.  But corps often
don't have problems injuring either in their insane drive for
profits.
