During calendar year 1999, 886 applications were made for orders and

search under the Act. the United States Foreign Intelligence
Surveillance Court issued orders in 880 applications granting
authority to the Government for the requested electronic
surveillance and electronic searches. One application filed in 1999
was pending before the Court until March 29, 2000, when it was
approved. Five applications which were filed in late December 1999
were approved when presented to the Court on January 5, 2000.

No orders were entered which modified or denied the requested authority.

              Sincerely,
