The problem with this plan is that they are having problems hiring cops
as it is. Bill Clinton set out to hire a 100,000 new cops. The program
only ended up hiring 45,000 and some of them quit or were fired (they
were really scraping bottom with some of these guys).

So, if they want to hire *real* cops, they will run into this problem.
If they want to hire *censors,* they'll have more luck because I'm sure
that there are thousands of fundamentalists and control freaks who would
love to control other people.

It's a shame that so many people cave into hysteria about Net content.
I've challenged filtering advocates on numerous occasions to demonstrate
that Internet porn harms young people as a class and they haven't even
bothered to argue with me. They know that it isn't a problem. They want
people to continue assuming, based on no evidence, that Internet porn
"harms" children.

The fact that children are exposed to thousands of ads each week is far
more harmful to them than accidentally seeing some woman's breasts.
