 Agreed.
Methinks it was intended to sound
detremental in oredr to rile us into more
effective action.
Besides the manifesto & the dedicated sites,
there were some other good things in it we should
think about.

Speaking of 'thinking about'...here are some
clips that bear reading for those that havent
seen em yet...methinks these links
could,would,should
be put on the sites we make as well as any
others relevent..

"Most people love to follow links"...and they
should have all the exposure to these articles as
they can get. Kinda verifies what we are
saying...........which canna hurt.

 Note:
1si is on to something here :
<< I suggest that a presskit/manifesto be
inserted
BEFORE the list of keywords, but in the same
message.
BTW, "manifesto" has some negative connotations
(unabomber??) is"Policy Statement"too
straight??>>

or...How about a Privacy Education Statement??
and it should also be posted Everywhere we can
post Anything...
not to mention...sent as FWD's...Just a thought.

Now..here are those Articles of 'interest':

FBI Pressuring Spy Archivist

>>The FBI wants to delete a Japanese intelligence

document from a U.S.
website.

Two special agents on Thursday contacted online
archivist John Young, who
maintains a massive archive of files related to
spy agencies, and politely
asked him to yank information related to Japan's
Public Security
Investigation Agency.

Young refused to comply with the request. He said

the FBI told him they
were asking on behalf of the Japanese Ministry of

Justice, which oversees the PSIA.<<

>>It's about a company - eWatch - that (quoting
Slashdot), "specializes in
tracking the comments of, and garnering personal
information about folks
with a beef with a company. The service isn't
cheap, upwards of $5,000 per
'screenname.' This was apparently used against

eWatch CyberSleuth

http://www.ewatch.com/pop_sleuth.html

<<<Now, Companies Can Track Down Their
  Cyber-Critics

A new service allows corporate spinmeisters to
retaliate against outspoken citizens with
"reeducation" efforts -- or worse.

Beware the public relations person with a
modem.
Now corporate spinmeisters, too, can go online to
track customers -- especially the disgruntled
ones who vent their spleen in cyberspace.

That's right. All those companies you love to
hate now have a way to find out who's griping
about
them, and they can target complainers for a
little reeducation.
Thanks to a new product from Dallas-based eWatch
-- and sold through Edelman Interactive public
relations agency and PR Newswire -- companies can
now monitor what people do or say on the Web and
respond.

The result: So-called "anticorporate activism,"
as
it's known in the flak trade, will never be the
same -- and neither will your sense of free
speech as a consumer.<<<
