Blinkenlights: Huge Message Display

The famous German Chaos Computer Club (CCC) is celebrating its 20th
anniversary in true geek style. Members hooked up lamps behind the
windows of eight stories of a building to create a gigantic
eight-by-18 pixel display. Every night, the lights display all sorts
of animations. The display can be controlled by users with cell
phones. Call up a phone number and play pong on the side of the
building, or send love letters to your significant other. Neat, and
reminiscent of the building-sized Tetris game created by Brown
University students last year (see NSD 6.14).
